I am very excited to be the guest designer for the January MFT Sketch Challenges! Thank you to the wonderful folks at MFT for inviting me!
As anyone who follows me on my blog or Instagram knows, I am such a big fan of MFT and their sketch challenges. I really enjoy working with sketches as I think they push me to create in different ways. To see how everyone interprets the sketch is also really fun and inspiring.
Here is a link to this week’s competition, where you can see more inspiration from the fabulous MFT Design Team.
For my inspiration card this week, I chose the Blueprints 27 die-namics set and the Cool Cat stamps.
I die cut the scalloped rectangle and two of the frames from white card. I added some cement grey ink to both frames, then adhered them together. I then cut the frame so I was left with just the three windows panel, for a photo strip effect.
Before adding the scalloped rectangle to a card base, I flicked it with some gold perfect pearls mixed with water. This creates a nice splatter effect whilst still keeping the card’s CAS style.
I stamped, coloured and die cut three cats from the Cool Cat stamp set, then adhered them behind the windows, cutting off any excess showing outside the frame. I added this to the card at an angle.
For the sentiment, I die cut two Essential Speech Bubbles, one from white card and the other from gold glitter paper. I heat embossed a greeting from the Cool Cat stamp set in gold onto the white speech bubble, then offset layered it over the gold speech bubble.
Finally, I added some PPP sparkling clear sequins to finish.
Thanks for joining me today. I hope that you will have a go at the MFT sketch challenges this month too. Let me know in the comments if you do, as I’d love to see what you make.
That’s a fantastic card ! The colour combo is perfect !
