Handmade Cards, Pretty Pink Posh DT

Blue and White Petunias

I’m continuing my love of blue and white florals with my card today. This time, I’m using colouring pencils for a different look.

I began by white heat embossing some flowers and leaves from the Pretty Pink Posh Pretty Petunias stamp set. I then chose some blue shades of pencils and did some very simple colouring. I wasn’t going for a realistic look, rather a more solid block colour. I used Faber Castell Polychromos pencils in Dark Indigo (157), Indanthrene (247), and Helioblue-Reddish (151)

I found colouring after heat embossing quite tricky as, unless you’re super careful, it’s easy to get pencil on the embossing. I persevered and I think it looks fine, but something to watch out for next time. I used some white gel pen to cover some of my mistakes.

On a white card base, I added a border of blue with some distress oxide ink in faded jeans. I then layered a Pretty Pink Posh Scallop Rectangle frame over the top, cut from white card.

I layered the flowers on the card base, using foam tape behind the top most flower for some dimension.

I die cut two of the Love Shakerdies from black card. I cut away the heart frames from both, to keep just the word. I then layered these together on the card.

Finally, I added some sparkling clear confetti to the centres of the flowers and a few around the card base.
