Today I’m sharing another card using the Pretty Pink Posh set called Fly a Kite. There is still time to save 25% on this set in the PPP store. Click here to go straight there.
I love the images in this set and the sentiments are really sweet. When I saw the bunny with his arms outstretched in the Bunny Friends stamp set, I thought he would look so cute holding a kite.
I began by stamping and copic colouring some images from the Fly a Kite stamp set, plus the bunny from Bunny Friends. I die cut them with the coordinating dies, then put them aside to work on the rest of the card.
For the background, I wanted to try a watercolour distress oxide look. I chose salty ocean distress oxide ink and pressed the ink pad directly onto an acrylic block. I spritzed the ink with water, then pressed a piece of white card down on the acrylic block. I did this a few times then dried the background with my heat tool. I repeated this process, layering more colour onto the card until I had a nice textured sky background.
I cut a piece of white card the same size as my card base, then used the largest die in the Stitched Diamonds set to cut a window. These dies leave a stitched line on the inside and outside of the cut line, which gives a lovely finished look. I adhered the sky background to my white card base along with one of the cloud images. I stamped a greeting from the Fly a Kite stamp set on to the diamond window panel, then added it on the top of the card with foam tape.
I added the rest of my images to the card, using a mix foam tape and liquid glue. For some finishing touches, I added Wink of Stella clear glitter to the sun and kites, and some Sea Glass jewels around the sentiment.
