For my card today, I decided to create a sunset sky for the Darling Dragonflies to feature on.
I began by blending distress oxides onto a piece of white card. I used candied apple and wild honey. From this, I die cut the Hugs Shaker die in the centre.
With some black ink, I stamped the reed images at the bottom of the panel. I had originally planned to colour in the images with a black copic marker, but I like the look of the outlines only, so left them as they were.
Next, I stamped two dragonflies in versafine onyx black ink, then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. This helps them to stand out a little better than the reeds, making them more of a focus.
Before adhering the panel to a card base, I blended some squeezed lemonade distress oxide ink onto the card base so it shows behind the Hugs Shaker window.
To finish the card, I added some Metallic Rose Gold jewels around the card. The colour goes so well with the sunset background.
