Today I have a cute card to share, featuring some lovely November release products from Pretty Pink Posh – Penguin Pals, Season’s Greetings Script die and the Ornament Shaker die. This fabulous release is available to purchase today!
My idea for this card began with the adorable penguin making a snow angel. I wanted to add some snow around him. I stamped and copic coloured the image first, then die cut it with the coordinating die. Then I used an embossing pen to add ink around him, before embossing with the WOW White Puff Twinkle embossing powder.
To give the penguin a snowy place to sit on the card, I die cut one of the Scalloped Circle and added the same embossing powder to the centre die cut.
On the circle frame, I embossed it with WOW Metalline First Frost embossing powder, which gives a beautiful icy look. To give the frame more dimension, I layered the embossed frame over a white card frame.
For the greeting, I decided to use the new Season’s Greeting Script die. I die cut it three times from white card, then added the same blue embossing powder to one of the die cuts. It’s easiest to add the powder and emboss with the dies still in the card, then popping out the scripty words once the embossing has cooled.
As I was trying to decide what to do next, I wondered to myself if the scalloped circle might be the same size as the new Ornament Shaker die. It turns out to be a wonderful fit, so I decided to turn my penguin snow angel into an ornament.
I die cut the ornament from white card, cutting away the word in the middle. I then adhered the blue embossed circle on top. I die cut the top of the ornament from white card and silver glitter paper, then layered these onto the ornament.
I felt the background needed a little something but I didn’t want a lot of colour. I settled on a snowflake stencil and a very light grey ink to add some subtle detail.
I adhered everything to the card base with liquid glue, adding a little thread to the ornament. I finished with some of the light blue and white jewels from the new Starry Sky jewels mix.
