My card today features the adorable Penguin Pals from the Pretty Pink Posh November release. When I saw the two skating penguins, it reminded me of the scene in A Muppet’s Christmas Carol, with the penguins’ Christmas skating party. I decided to make a card inspired by that as it’s one of my favourite Christmas movies.
I stamped and coloured the images, using copic markers in warm greys for the penguins, then die cutting them with the coordinating dies. I die cut some of the Pine Sprigs from white glitter card and also some white card, which I then coloured with green copic markers.
For the background, I took a piece of white card cut to the same size as my card base. From this, I die cut a Stitched Window towards the top. Below this, I stamped the sentiment from Penguin Pals in black ink.
I added a soft blend of distress oxides to the card base, then adhered the panel over the top.
Using the positive die cut window piece, I trimmed it down to create two strips. On one, I used some WOW bonding powder and WOW Fab Foil in Ice Blue, to add a skating rink. This is the first time I’ve tried foiling, so I think I need some more practice, but overall I’m pleased with the result.
On the other strip, I embossed it with WOW White Puff Twinkle embossing powder, for a snowy bank.
I adhered both pieces back in to the stitched window on the card, to create my scene. I then added the pine sprigs at the top with liquid glue, and the skating penguins and present with foam tape.
I finished the card with a few jewels from the new Starry Sky mix, placed around the sentiment.
Don’t forget, it’s Christmas Theme Week on the Pretty Pink Posh Blog this week! There’s still time to save 15% on Christmas items during this theme week!
So cute! I love the Muppets Christmas carol too 😊
