Believe in the Magic of Christmas

Today I’m sharing a Christmas card with a more traditional, vintage look. The Rooftop Reindeer stamp set from Hello Bluebird really lends itself to this style of card.

I began by working on the background. I die cut a large circle window from a piece of white card, which is cut to the same size as my card base.

I blended on some distress oxide inks onto the card base, so the colour shows through the circle window. I used tumbled glass and broken china. I then spritzed it with water to soften the blend and add some water details.

From the positive circle die cut, I used a die from the Hill and Dale die set to create a snowy ground for my scene. I covered it with WOW embossing ink, then heat embossed it with WOW Diamond White embossing glitter. I love the sparkle.

I die cut some dark green pine leaves using dies from the Holly and Pine set, adhering them onto the card base so they show through the window. On the window panel, I heat embossed a greeting from the Rooftop Reindeer stamp set with WOW Metallic Gold embossing powder, before adhering both the window panel and the snowy ground on to the card base.

In the Holly and Pine die set, there is a lovely large bow. I die cut this from red card, then embossed it with WOW Vintage Candy Cane embossing glitter. I layered this onto the card with foam tape.

Finally I coloured one of the lovely reindeer, using some E40 copics, then die cut it with the coordinating die and added to the scene with foam tape.
