Handmade Cards

Hip Hip Hooray

Today I’m sharing a card using the Charlie Alphas dies from Hello Bluebird. An alphabet die set is an essential for any papercrafter. These would be perfect for scrapbooking. I decided to use them to make a big bold Hip Hip Hooray card!

I began with the background, masking an area on the A2 white card base and blending on distress oxide inks in picked raspberry, spun sugar, peacock feathers and cracked pistachio. I flicked the background with water and perfect pearls as I love the details this gives.

I then die cut the new Gallery Frame 2 die from white card. I love how these dies cut both the inside and outside separately as it makes it so easy to get many looks from one die. I added the outside scalloped frame to the card with liquid adhesive.

Next, I die cut the letters from patterned paper and also black foam sheet. By off set layering black foam behind each letter, you get the dimension and a shadow effect, which helps the letters really pop against the background.

I adhered the letters on to the card, then finished with some Pretty Pink Posh Pearl White jewels.
