Today I’m sharing a card made with the Spellbinders May 2019 Glimmer Hot Foil kit.
This month, you get a large elegant oval glimmer plate, which fits a standard A2 card base. Also included is an oval die which fits the middle of the large plate, along with two glimmer plate swirls and a die to cut them out too. The included foil roll this month is Polished Brass, which is so gorgeous.
The Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil kit is a monthly subscription and a great way to build your collection of glimmer plates and foils.
You will need the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil machine to use with this subscription, plus a compatible die cutting machine. I used my Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine. A list of compatible machines is available on the Spellbinders website.
Spellbinders currently have a special promotion on this kit subscription. Join now and you can save 10% off the purchase of the Glimmer Hot Foil System. *You may add the system at the time of subscription.
For my card, I began by cutting an A2 piece of Fun Stampers Journey Rustic Rose cardstock. I used the Polished Brass foil included in the kit to foil the large oval glimmer plate. I love the look of the brass foiling with the pink background.
On a side note, I didn’t use any shim this time but got a fabulous foiling. I’ve noticed that too much pressure can potentially damage the silicone heating surface, so I’d recommend trying first without a shim and adding one only if needed.
As I was slightly off centre with my foiling, I trimmed down the the card a little, then mounted it on an A2 card base. I like the border of white this gives too.
Next, I die cut the oval from the same Rustic Rose cardstock, then heat embossed a sentiment from the Pretty Pink Posh Cupcake Critters stamp set in the centre with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder.
I didn’t use the glimmer plate swirls included in the kit this time, but they are a beautiful option to use for an extra flourish.
Thanks for joining me today. I hope you enjoyed seeing the card I made with this fabulous kit.
