Spellbinders May 2019 Card Kit

Today I’m sharing cards made with the Spellbinders May 2019 card kit. The kit is packed full with everything you need to make at least 10 cards. It’s definitely possible to make more, though.

The Spellbinders card kit is a monthly subscription. You can also purchase the kit extras separately, if you only want select items or would like more embellishments.

The May 2019 card kit is called ‘Stay Wild’. With a fun outdoor adventure theme, this kit is perfect for more masculine cards.

In the kit, you get the following items:

• 10 textured white card bases with envelopes
• 6 pieces of cardstock, including a metallic copper sheet
• Set of 9 dies
• Paper pad
• Stamp set
• Sequins
• Die cut shapes
• Butterfly stickers
• Chipboard frames
• 4 journaling cards
• Double sided tape
• Foam squares

I have 4 cards to share using the kit. The only items I used in addition to the kit contents were:

• Liquid adhesive (my preferred adhesive type)
• Foam tape (I like to use a lot of foam tape so needed more than was included in the kit)
• Corner chomper
• WOW Metallic Copper embossing powder
• WOW Clear embossing ink
• Versafine onyx black ink

Here are the cards I made:

Card 1

• Cut a piece of cardstock to the same size as a journal card.
• Use a 1/2 inch corner chomper to round the corners.
• Layer together on a card base.
• Add two die cut sentiments with foam squares.
• Adhere a layered butterfly and die cut leaves.

Card 2

• Adhere a piece of patterned paper to a card base.
• Layer a piece of cardstock behind a chipboard frame and adhere to card.
• Add some die cut shape pieces to the card using foam squares.

Card 3

• Adhere a piece of patterned paper to a card base.
• Add two strips of metallic cardstock on a diagonal.
• Layer a piece of patterned paper behind a chipboard frame and adhere to card.
• Add some die cut shape pieces to the card.
• Adhere a layered butterfly sticker.

Kit Extras Card

This card uses just the kit extras , which are also available separately.

• Stamp and heat emboss the bear from the stamp set onto white card.
• Mask the hand of the bear, then stamp the balloon with black ink.
• Add a stamped sentiment at the top.
• Layer patterned paper onto a card base.
• Add the bear panel on top with foam tape.
• Finish with some die cut shape leaves and a die cut sentiment strip.
