Welcome to day 2 of the Hello Bluebird Background Bash! The design team are sharing cards to celebrate the release of some fabulous new background stamps on Friday 26 July.
As the previously released background stamps will also be restocked, I’ll be showcasing new ways to use a couple of them. My card today features the Sprinkles background stamp. I’ve used it to add a pattern to die cuts – just another fun way that background stamps can be used.
I began with the background of my card. I wanted a subtle tone on tone leaf background. On a piece of white card, I stamped the Sprinkles background stamp with WOW clear embossing ink. I then heat embossed the pattern with WOW Silver Pearl powder. This clever powder will emboss with a white pearl appearance on white card, but on black card it shows as silver pearl. The white pearl tone on tone look was perfect for the look I wanted.
Next, I used the Tropical Foliage die set to cut lots of leaves from my embossed card. I then adhered these to cover my card base.
I used the Sprinkles background stamp again, this time stamping with the embossing ink onto green card. I heat embossed it with WOW Hercules embossing glitter. A lovely green and metallic glitter mix. I die cut this card with the new Wild About You word die, stacking it with two more white die cut words and adhering to my card.
I stamped lots of images from the new More Jungle Littles stamp set, colouring them with copic markers and die cutting them with the coordinating dies. I chose some animals to go around the large sentiment, adhering them with foam tape. I also added a toucan sitting on the sentiment.
Head to the Hello Bluebird store tomorrow, Friday 26 July, to shop the new release of backgrounds.
