Today I’m sharing a card made with the Spellbinders September 2019 Glimmer Hot Foil kit.
The Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil kit is a monthly subscription and a great way to build your collection of glimmer plates and foils.
You will need the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil machine to use with this subscription, plus a compatible die cutting machine. I used my Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine. A list of compatible machines is available on the Spellbinders website.
Price increase and new value clubs
As mentioned on my September Card Kit post, Spellbinders have recently announced a small increase in individual club kit prices of between $2.50-$3.50. This is to maintain the high quality of the kits amidst higher costs in the market. Value Club Kits prices will vary depending on the individual club kits included.
For current subscribers, this increase doesn’t kick in until the October kits. For new subscribers, the price increase begins this month.
There are also two new Value club options available starting this month:
- Glimmer ‘n Cut – small die, large die and glimmer kits of the month
- Glimmer Groupie – small die, large die, card and glimmer kits of the month
OK, onto this months kit! In the September kit, you get the Brilliant Corners and More set. There are 6 glimmer plates and 5 coordinating dies, with elegant detailed designs. There is also a roll of teal foil included, it’s a gorgeous colour.
I decided to use the corners from the kit together to make a foiled strip along the centre of my card.
I used the included teal foil on FSJ Cool Pool cardstock, then die cut them with the coordinating dies. I love that they include the dies as it makes the kit really versatile.
I arranged the corners across the centre of my card base, securing with liquid adhesive.
Next, I cut two strips of white card, the same width as my card base and around 3cm high. I used foam tape to adhere one of these to the top part of my card.
On the second white card strip, I foiled the greeting that’s included in the kit, using the same teal foil. I used some low tack tape to secure the glimmer plate so it foiled in the correct place.
I added this panel to the bottom portion of my card base with more foam tape. To finish, I added some Pretty Pink Posh Pearl White jewels on the foiled design.
Thanks for joining me today. I hope you enjoyed seeing the card I made with this fabulous kit.
