WOW & Gerda Steiner Designs Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today the WOW Design Team are joining forces with the fabulous Gerda Steiner Designs team for a fun-filled Blog Hop.

If you’re following along the blog hop, you should have arrived here from Cathy Chapdelaine. I’ll list all of today’s blog hop participants below, if you want to start at the beginning.

I have two cards to share, featuring some cute Christmas cats from Gerda Steiner and some gorgeous Christmas Twist embossing glitters from WOW.

Card 1

I stamped the adorable cat from the Gerda Steiner Deck the Halls stamp set, colouring it with copic markers then cutting it out. This image reminds me of my first cat, who loved to play with baubles off the Christmas tree.

Using an embossing pen, I added ink to the baubles then embossed them with the following embossing glitters:

  • Ruby Romance
  • Midnight Dream
  • White Twinkle
  • Pearl Gold Sparkle
  • Aventurine

These glitter colours are available individually or as a set called Christmas Twist in the WOW Embossing store.

I used the Lawn Fawn Just Double Stitching Circles die set to add detail to my card base.

I stamped a sentiment from the Gerda Steiner Deck the Halls stamp set using WOW clear embossing ink, then heat embossed with WOW Metallic Gold Rich super fine embossing powder.

I added the cat to the card with foam tape to finish.

Card 2

For my second card, I used the sweet and funny Carol Kitten stamp set. These cats really make me smile.

As before I coloured them with copic markers, then cut them out. I added sparkle to the hats and scarves, using Ruby Romance and White Twinkle embossing glitters.

For interest on my card base, I used a Lawn Fawn Just Stitching Double Rectangle, then added a heat embossed sentiment using Metallic Gold Rich super fine embossing powder.

To finish, I embossed some musical notes using the Aventurine embossing glitter, the added the cats to the card with foam tape.

  2. Love that little cat and yarn card. It’s simple, yet very cheery. The cat trio in the second card is just cute! I love how you did the backgrounds in both, and embossing really adds great texture to both cards.
