Pretty Pink Posh March 2020 Release

Today I’m sharing a card to celebrate the Pretty Pink Posh March release, available today! This fabulous release is Spring and baby themed, with stamp sets, dies and stencils.

My card inspired by a technique that Jennifer McGuire showcased in a video recently. It’s called the Faux Stained Glass technique, and I think the new Decorative Cross die from Pretty Pink Posh is perfect for this technique.

I first die cut the Pretty Pink Posh Decorative Cross from white card several times. I had put stick-it adhesive on the back of the card before die cutting. I adhered one of these die cuts to an A2 panel of white card.

Using copic markers, I added colour to the open areas of the die cut. It doesn’t matter if you colour on the die cut accidentally, as it’ll be covered up with more die cuts later. Just try not to colour outside of the die cut.

Once the colouring was done, I adhered 3-4 more white die cuts on top.

Next, I added Nuvo Tonic Crystal Glaze to the open coloured areas of the die cut. This is a clear glaze that, when dry, gives a fabulous stained glass look. You need a heavy layer of glaze and to make sure that it goes right up to the corner of each area. I used a craft pick to help with this.

Once I had added glaze all over, I then covered the cross with WOW A Girl’s Best Friend Sprinkles Glitter. The glaze will dry and hold the glitter in place for a beautiful sparkle.

I set the panel aside to allow it to dry for several hours. Once dry, I added a final die cut Decorative Cross. This layer was die cut from Tonic Studios Pearlescent Luna Silver card stock, using stick it adhesive to adhere in place.

I decided not to add any sentiment or other elements to my card as I didn’t want to detract from the beautiful decorative cross I added the panel to my white card base to finish.
