Spellbinders April 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit

Today I’m sharing a card I made with the Spellbinders April 2020 Glimmer Hot Foil kit and the add-on set.

This month, you get the Celebrate the Day set, which is designed to coordinate with the Trucking Through The Seasons Die, but can also be used alone. There are 9 glimmer plates and 1 cutting die. You also get a beautiful roll of Speckled Prism Foil.

The Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil kit is a monthly subscription and a great way to build your collection of glimmer plates and foils.

You will need the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil machine to use with this subscription, plus a compatible die cutting machine. I used my Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine. A list of compatible machines is available on the Spellbinders website.

As I don’t own the Trucking Through the Seasons die set, I have created a card to show how the kit can be used standalone.

To begin, I used some washi tape to temporarily adhere the border glimmer plate around one of the sentiment glimmer plates in the kit. I deliberately positioned the sentiment so as to leave space more space on one side.

I used the Speckled Prism Foil and some FSJ Sweet Berry card. I used the coordinating die to cut my sentiment out, then a small circle punch to add a hole to turn it into a tag.

I took a heart balloon die from the April 2020 Small Die of the Month kit, and die cut three balloons from a watercolour piece I’d created with Nuvo shimmer powders.

For my background, I created a cloudy sky on my card base with a stencil from MFT and tumbled glass distress oxide ink. I added some detail with a die from the FSJ Journey Rectangles die set.

I tied some silver thread on to each of my balloons then added my balloons with foam squares. I then attached the other ends of the tag and tied in a bow. I used more foam tape to add the tag to my card.
