Spellbinders Wedding Season Collection

Today I have a wedding card to share using some beautiful sets from the Spellbinders Wedding Season Collection by Nichol Spohr.

I began by creating a layered wedding cake, using the Mr & Mrs Wedding Cake Etched Dies set. This fabulous set has everything you need to create a decorated tiered cake. It would work well for other occasion cakes too.

I die cut the layers from some pearlescent card, layering white over gold so it shows through the polka dot detail. I also die cut a layer from some embossed gold card. I love the luxurious look this gives to the cake.

Although the set comes with two tiers, it’s easy to create a third tier by cutting down the smaller layer. Use the die to get the rounded edges and offset it to cut the layer down.

To decorate the cake, I added some die cut decorations from the set. I cut flowers and beading with the same pearlescent card and added some sage green leaves. I adhered some Sparkling Clear jewels to the flower centres for extra sparkle.

For the background, I used Champagne foil and the Twinkle Lights Glimmer background to add detail to some kraft card. I love how this background echos the dot pattern on the cake and the kraft card compliments the gold tones.

I adhered the kraft panel to a card base, then added a smaller panel of white card, embossed with the Love Stripes embossing folder. Two thin strips of pearlescent gold card help to bring the background pieces together and create an area for the cake to sit on. I adhered the cake to the right hand side of the card with foam tape, leaving space on the left hand side for my sentiments.

For my sentiments, I chose some glimmer plates from the Glimmering Wedding Wishes Glimmer set. I used the same Champagne foil to glimmer the sentiments onto kraft card. This set has 15 sentiments, which you can mix and match to create different greetings.

I trimmed the sentiments down and used foam tape to add them to my card at different angles for a playful look.
