Today I have a rainbow glimmer foiled card to share using products from the Spellbinders Glimmer Background Collection.
There are 4 glimmer plates in this collection and they are perfect for adding stunning foiled details to your projects. They are so versatile – foil once for accent detail, several times for an all over background pattern, or add foiling patterns to die cut pieces.
Foiling always looks amazing on darker colour card and I wanted to see how this rainbow foil looked on a dark blue. I foiled the Hand Drawn Wave glimmer plate several times on some FSJ Denim Days card with the rainbow foil. I love this glimmer background and it looks stunning in the rainbow foil.
I was inspired by Yana’s cards using the Hand Drawn Wave glimmer plate, where she added layers of the background, fussy cutting along the waves at the top of each layer. I did the same to get three layers of rainbow waves for my card.
Next, I die cut a mermaid tail for my card from FSJ Cool Pool card, using the die set from the Spellbinders July 2019 card kit. I added some glimmer detail to these pieces too, using the Twinkle Lights and Hand Drawn Wave Glimmer plates with Speckled Prism foil.
Before adding the glimmer pieces to my card, I stamped a sentiment from the Shellebrate stamp set. I adhered the mermaid tail to the card base, then the top layer of waves. For the second and third layer of waves, I used foam tape for dimension.
To finish, I added some Sparkling Clear jewels around the sentiment.
