Hello Bluebird Fairy Dance

I love adding rainbows to my cards. This pretty fairy from the Hello Bluebird Fairy Dance set is leaving a rainbow trail behind her as she skips across the card.

I began by freehand drawing a mask for my card on some thin copy paper. I fussy cut out the trail, then taped the mask to my card base.

To create a beautiful blended rainbow, you only need 4 distress oxide inks. I used abandoned coral, squeezed lemonade, tumbled glass and shaded lilac. By blending the colours together, you can get the full rainbow in between.

Before removing the mask, I spritzed they ink with a sparkle spray. I then set the card aside to dry.

Next, I stamped and coloured a fairy from the Fairy Dance stamp set. I chose violets for her dress, so she matched the end of the rainbow trail. I used the coordinating die to cut the image out, along with a couple more blank layers to add dimension.

I stamped a sentiment from the Fairy Dance stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink, then adhered the fairy to the card.

To finish, I added some Pretty Pink Posh Clear Sparkling jewels to the trail. I love how they pick up the rainbow colours underneath.
