Spellbinders November 2020 Small Die of the Month

Today I’m sharing a card made with the November 2020 Small Die of the Month from Spellbinders.

This month, you get the Frankie Goes to the North Pole set of 20 cutting dies. These fun snowmen are great for scene cards. I love that there’s the option to use the skiing elements or not, depending on what scene you want to create.

I began by working on the background scene for my card.

From a piece of FSJ Limeade Splash cardstock, I used one of the Christmas Essential Glimmer Rectangles glimmer plates to foil a sentiment border with Polished Brass foil.

I die cut this using the largest die in the Essential Rectangles Etched die set, then adhered it to my card.

Next, I used Speckled Prism foil with the Twinkle Lights glimmer plate to add a snowfall pattern to a piece of Hero Arts Nautical card. I used a smaller die from the Essential Rectangles Etched die set to trim it down, then adhered it over the green glimmered piece.

I cut some snowy hills from Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust Sparkle cardstock. I used a light purple copic marker to define the tops of the hill banks, then adhered them onto my card base.

I decided to use the snowman without his skis. I die cut all the pieces from FSJ cardstock, then adhered them together with liquid glue.

I tucked the North Pole sign under a snowy bank, overlapping the border a little. I like to include elements breaking out of the scene.

Finally, I added the snowman with foam tape, for a little bit of dimension.
