Pantone Colour of the Year 2021

Today I’m sharing a card to celebrate continuing on the Pretty Pink Posh team this term. Do check out the DT announcement post on the PPP blog, as there’s a fab giveaway to enter!

I’m also keeping with my tradition of sharing a card that’s inspired by the Pantone Colour of the Year. This year there are actually 2 colours – Ultimate Grey & Illuminating. They are described by Pantone as ‘a marriage of colour conveying a message of strength and hopefulness that is both enduring and uplifting.’

I stamped the vase of flowers from the Pretty Pink Posh Mothers Day stamp set. This image is great for lots of occasions. I coloured the image in using greys and yellows, then used a very light BG marker for the vase.

I die cut the image with the coordinating die and added two layers of blank die cuts behind for even dimension.

For my background, I die cut the Pretty Pink Posh Lattice Background die from white card. This die is lovely for some interest on a card. I kept the pieces in the die cut but they can be removed for a different look.

Next, I cut a piece of yellow plaid patterned paper and matted it over a piece of pearlescent silver card, before adhering to my card.

I die cut the same pearlescent solver card with one of the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Strip dies. I heat embossed a sentiment on the strip from the Pretty Pink Posh Simple Sentiments stamp set, using WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

I added the sentiment banner to the card, followed by the vase of flowers. To finish, I added some Pretty Pink Posh Marigold jewels around the card.
