My card today features another fun background stamp from Hello Bluebird. All the previous backgrounds are being re-released as clear stamps on March 4th. This release will include some brand new scenic background stamps too!

I’m following one of my sketches for this card. This card uses sketch 004 – you can find all my sketches here on my blog and on Pinterest.

I cut a 6.5 inch square piece of white card. I treated it with an anti-static powder tool, then stamped the Petal Play background with clear embossing powder. I covered the panel with WOW Tschenny’s Sky embossing powder, then used my heat tool to melt the powder. This pretty embossing powder is a translucent and marbling deep navy with white flecks in. I love the effect this gives to the background pattern.

I stamped and copic coloured some birds and party hats from the Silly Birds stamp set, then die cut them with the coordinating dies. I added dimension to each with some white die cuts layered behind.

I cut a wide strip from the panel (I’ll save the rest for another card) and adhered it to the right side of a white card base. On the left side, I adhered a white card panel, then I added a thin strip of gold card where the two panels meet.
I stamped a sentiment from the Silly Birds stamp set on the left hand side, then adhered four birds with party hats onto the card to finish.
