Today I thought I’d switch out my copics for coloured pencils, on this sweet pig from the Hello Bluebird Pig Out stamp set. It’s a colouring medium I really love and want to use more on my projects.

I stamped the image from the Pig Out stamp set with light grey ink. I used Lawn Fawn River Rock ink. I also added some grass images from the Strawberry Jam stamp set, to help ground the pig.

I coloured the images with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. I used 4 pencils for each colour, to get a nice mix of shadows and highlights. The lovely thing about using coloured pencils is seeing the texture of the pencil marks, so I don’t use any blending solution.

Once I’d finished my colouring, I trimmed the panel down with a stitched square die. I then stamped a sentiment from the Rainbow Script stamp set.
I adhered two more layers behind the panel for dimension, then adhered to a square 4.75 inch card base to finish.
