Today I’m sharing a card made with products from the Spellbinders Color Block Backgrounds Collection.

I’m using the Color Block Slimline Edges on my card today, which is a set of two dies. Both dies cut along one of the long edges only so you can easily add the decorative edges to card stock panels.

I began by die cutting the zig zag slimline edge from a selection of coloured card. I cut two borders for each colour, keeping each strip as narrow as possible so as not to add too much bulk to the card.
Next, I adhered these together to build up a pretty background. I then cut the panel down to A2 size (4.25 x 5.5″) and adhered to a card base.

I decided to keep the sentiment simple and allow the background to be the focus. I chose a birthday greeting from Yana’s Layered Script Sentiments Etched Die set. I die cut it from metallic gold card, using stick it adhesive behind to make it easier to adhere to my card.
The Happy word is from a Pretty Pink Posh stamp set. The small word fit perfectly on the border to finish my sentiment and card.
