Today I’m sharing a card made with the Spellbinders Essential Glimmer Solid Shapes Collection. There are 4 shapes of solid glimmer plates in the collection, designed to bring new life to leftover foiled pieces.

I’m using the Essential Glimmer Solid Square on my card today. I’m a fan of square cards and I love that this shape works so well on an angle too.
I began by cutting a square of Moondust foil, slightly larger than the Essential Glimmer Solid Square. I then foiled the previously released birthday candle background on white card.

Next, I took a square panel of white card, the leftover Moondust foil and the Essential Glimmer Solid Square. I let the glimmer plate heat up for longer than usual – 2-3 clicks of the timer button. This is recommended for plates with lots of solid areas, to get the best foil transfer results.
I adhered the foiled panel on to a square card base, then added a foiled sentiment to the centre with foam tape. The sentiment is from the Mini Everyday Sentiments glimmer set.

For an extra card, I had some leftover foil from the April Glimmer Kit of the Month, so I used this with the Essential Glimmer Solid Square. The foil is Speckled Aura and the rainbow of colours it picks up in the light is stunning.

The background is created with the April embossing folder and I used the same sentiment, with silver foil this time.
