Handmade Cards

Cinderella Birthday Card

Fairytale cards are so fun to make! This one is for my niece who turned 3 this month. She loves princesses and pink.

clearly besotted once upon a time
I stamped the Cinderella and carriage images from the Clearly Besotted Once Upon a Time stamp set and coloured them in with promarkers. I added some Wink of Stella glitter to the images for extra sparkle, then fussy cut them out.

I chose some pink chevron paper from the MFT Fresh Squeezed Chevron paper pack. I die cut a circle frame with a Lawn Fawn circle frame die and adhered a piece to the bottom of an A6 card base.

On a piece of A6 white card, I die cut out a circle. I also used a die from the MFT Basic Edges die set to remove a portion at the bottom of the card.

I stuck down the carriage image on an A6 card base so it would show through the die cut circle space when the white card is attached over the top.

Next, I die cut a circle from acetate, larger than the one in the card, and stuck this down on the reverse side of the piece of white card. I die cut two more circle frames from white foam, then stuck them down on the reverse side too. I added more foam tape to cover the reverse of the white card. Over all the foam, I added double sided tape.

Now the fun part, adding the sequins! I chose pink sequin mix from Lucy’s Cards, called Candyfloss. These mixes are perfect for shaker cards as they have a mix of little beads, sequins, and shapes. I added a generous amount within the circle, then stuck down the card base over the top. So exciting to turn the card over and see the shaker working and looking so pretty!

I added the pink chevron circle frame around the shaker window, then the Cinderella image at the edge of the frame.

For the sentiment, I die cut from white card a Clearly Besotted Mini Basic banner. This banner die has a coordinating stamp set. To get the stamp aligned correctly before stamping, I placed the die cut banner back in the negative space in the white card. I placed it all in the mini Misti, then aligned the clean stamp over the top. Once the stamp is attached to the Misti door, I inked it up and stamped it down. This is the easiest way to align coordinating stamps and dies that I’ve found.

I attached the sentiment with foam tape to finish the card.

I hope my niece loves her Cinderella shaker card as much as I do.
