Sometimes it’s nice to make a stamp the focus of a card. The Woodware Going to Seed stamp is a beautiful large intricate stamp, that really works as a focal point.
I started by making my own rectangle stencil from white card, using a rectangle die. I taped the stencil over another piece of card, and blended distress inks in oranges, going from dark on the outside to lighter in the middle.
Next, I inked up the floral stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped it using my mini Misti stamping tool. With such a large stamp, I need the Misti to make sure I get a good stamping impression. I definitely didn’t want to ruin the background with poor stamping!
I cut down the card panel to fit on an A6 card. I decided not to add a sentiment or any other embellishments. I like that this card could be used for a variety of occasions, and thought it best to leave it open to possibilities.
I’m entering this card into the following competition(s):
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge
Virginia’s View Challenge October 2016
This actually looks like a picture to be framed up to display on the wall!
