Chevron Jump for Joy
The MFT Split Chevron cover-up die-namic offers so many possibilities for adding interest and colour to a card. Just by using different patterned papers and colours, you can change the look and feel of a design easily. I chose three papers from the MFT Painted Prints Smitten paper pack for this card. I love these colours!
As this is an intricate die, I really recommend using a double side adhesive sheet behind whatever you cut it from – the stick-it adhesive sheets are very good. It saves the worry of getting messy glue everywhere and it’s so much easier. Once I had die cut the chevron plate from all three papers, I assembled the chevron design on my card base, trying to be as random as possible. I deliberately left some gaps too.
I’m enjoying colouring at the moment, so it was fun to colour the cute girl from the MFT Jumping with Joy set. I coloured the image with my zig clean colour real brush pens, using colours that matched the papers I’d chosen.
To help anchor her to the card, I die cut a frame and rectangle using a die from the MFT single stitched line rectangle frame die–namics. On the rectangle, I heat embossed a greeting in silver, before blending on distress ink and flicking with water for a distressed look. I used foam tape to add the girl image, for some dimension.
