Today I’m excited to introduce a stamp set that I designed for WOW Embossing! It’s called Simply Sew.
If you’re at the Creative Craft Show at the NEC Birmingham this weekend, pop by the WOW Embossing stand (E28) where it’s on sale along with lots of other fabulous goodies.
Updated: The Simply Sew stamp set is now available to purchase online.
I wanted to create a set for those crafters who love to sew, knit or crochet. It has fun, hand-drawn images that can be embossed or coloured with your favourite colouring medium.
I have two cards to share using this new set, to show some different ways to use it on your projects.
Keep Calm & Crochet
Some of you may have seen this card on the Hochanda channel last month, when WOW Embossing were showcasing some fabulous new products. I used the new Christmas Twist embossing glitter set – it’s perfect for cards all year round!
On this card, I stamped out a wool background with Versafine Onyx black ink, then heat embossed it with WOW Clear Gloss embossing powder.
Next, I used an embossing pen to add ink to the wool, before heat embossing the areas with four different WOW embossing glitters – Ruby Romance, Aventurine, Pearl Gold Sparkle and Taffeta Pink. These powders are translucent, so they don’t cover the lines of the stamped images underneath.
I cut a panel of card stock with a stitched rectangle, then used WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder to heat emboss a greeting from the set. The stamp set has different words to add to the ‘keep calm’ sentiment so can be customised as you like. I also white heat embossed a ball of wool with a crochet hook behind.
Thank You Sew Much
For my second card, I’ve combined some of the sewing images in the set with a sweet thank you greeting.
On a circle of white cardstock, I arranged some of the Simply Sew images and stamped them with Versafine Onyx Black ink, then heat embossed them with WOW Clear Gloss embossing powder. The thread on the needle is a separate stamp, which I designed to use with the needle or the ball of wool.
I stamped and embossed a greeting underneath the images too. This sentiment is made up of two stamps, so you can also create the sentiment ‘I love you sew much’ as an alternative.
Next, I used some zig clean colour real brush markers to add some colour to my images, in my favourite rainbow colours of course!
For the background of my card, I used the Lil’Inker Quilted Swirl cover die to add a beautiful stitching pattern. I love that stitching dies work so well with the Simply Sew set!
I die cut a slightly larger circle and heat embossed it with WOW Midnight Dream embossing glitter. I layered my stamped circle over the top with foam tape, then added them to my card to finish.
I hope you’ve enjoyed a look at the WOW Embossing Simply Sew set today. I’d love to hear what you think in the comments below.
