Today I’m sharing cards I made with the Spellbinders November 2019 Glimmer Hot Foil kit.
This month, you get a fabulous set of holiday sentiment glimmer plates, along with two banner dies and a roll of silver foil. I really love the look of these simple one line sentiments. It’s very easy to foil a bunch of these at once for using on your Christmas cards.
The Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil kit is a monthly subscription and a great way to build your collection of glimmer plates and foils.
You will need the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil machine to use with this subscription, plus a compatible die cutting machine. I used my Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine. A list of compatible machines is available on the Spellbinders website.
There are also two new Value club options available now available:
- Glimmer ‘n Cut – small die, large die and glimmer kits of the month
- Glimmer Groupie – small die, large die, card and glimmer kits of the month
For both my cards, I chose papers from the new Christmas Wishes paper pad from Spellbinders. This fantastic paper pad comes with the Spellbinders November card kit, but it’s also available separately. I’d really recommend this beautiful collection of papers.
I trimmed down the papers to slightly smaller than my A2 notecards, then attached them with double sided tape.
I placed some polished brass foil face up on my Cranberry Bliss card, then arranged my sentiment glimmer plates face down over the top, securing with low tack tape. I then placed everything glimmer plate side down onto my glimmer hot foil machine.
Once foiled, I used my trimmer to cut the sentiment strips apart. You can use the coordinating dies to do this, if you prefer.
I adhered my sentiment strips to my cards using foam tape, using three sentiments for a fun look on one card, and only one sentiment on the other for an elegant looking card design.
These cards were quick to make and, if you foil lots of sentiments at the same time, they are ready for making simply beautiful Christmas cards.
Thanks for joining me today. I hope you enjoyed seeing the cards I made with this fabulous kit from Spellbinders.
