Today I’m sharing a card with Beach Babes – one of my favourite summer sets from Hello Bluebird.
This card began with the background. I blended on some Mermaid Lagoon distress oxide ink onto a panel of watercolour card, then added Atlantis Burst and Blue Blitz Nuvo shimmer powders on top. I love the splash effect.
To add more texture and shimmer to the background, I flicked on some Perfect Pearl powder mixed with water.
Next, I die cut the Hello Bluebird Ocean Scene die from white card. I just want the lower portion of the scene for my card. I embossed this piece with WOW Sparkling Sand embossing powder (available as part of the Dockside Trio currently). This can be sand, or in my case, the edge of a pool.
I trimmed my watercolour panel down, adhered the embossed piece, then matted the whole panel onto some dark blue card to look a little like a polaroid snap. I then used WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder to add a sentiment under the scene, using a greeting from the Beach Babes stamp set.
I adhered the scene at an angle on a white card base, then added one of the cute pigs from the Beach Babes stamp set to the water. I thought he needed a drink by the poolside and found the perfect image in the Hello Bluebird Hippos on Holiday stamp set.
As a finishing touch, I added Nuvo White Blizzard glitter drops to the rubber ring, splashes and ice cubes.
