Hello Bluebird Garden Party

Today I’m sharing a card featuring the fabulous new Fairy Glade Vertical slimline die from Hello Bluebird. Teamed with the Garden Party stamp set, it’s easy to create fabulous scenes.

I began by die cutting the Fairy Glade Vertical slimline die from Bristol Smooth card. On the main background, I blended an evening sky with distress oxides in squeezed lemonade, dried marigold, worn lipstick, chipped sapphire and black soot. I flicked the panel with white acrylic paint to add lots of stars to the sky.

I layered the background panel on to my card base, along with the outer frame. As the Bristol Smooth card is off white, I die cut another frame from white card to layer on top.

I used distress oxides to add colour to the other elements of the scene.

Here are some of the combos I used:

Grass: Pine Needles, Evergreen Bough, and Black Soot, with Black Soot distress ink flicks
Leaves: Evergreen Bough, Cracked Pistachio and Shabby Shutters
Mushroom: Worn Lipstick, Abandoned Coral, Festive Berries and Black Soot
Mushroom stalk: Antique Linen, Brushed Cordoroy, Frayed Burlap

I pieced the scene together on my card base. I chose to keep the background elements flat but if you like dimension, it’s easy to use foam squares to pop up pieces.

On the grass piece, I embossed a greeting from the Garden Party stamp set with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

Next, I stamped the images from Garden Party and coloured them with copics. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out, along with two extra blank layers to add dimension. I arranged them on my card to complete my evening party scene.
