Hello Bluebird May 2021 Release Preview Day 2 – Flying High

I’m sharing a look at the new Hello Bluebird Flying High stamp set today. This fabulous set is part of the upcoming release on May 6th.

The coordinating dies for these adorable critters cut the images out so their paws sit over the hot air balloon basket. I love this kind of clever detail that Hello Bluebird are so good at doing.

I used the previously released Downhill Vertical scene die to create my card. I cut the die from white card and moved the mountains and one ground piece to the bottom of the slimline frame, to give more sky at the top. I love that these scene dies can be adapted in different ways to create new looks.

To add colour to my scene, I used the following:

Tumbled glass distress oxide ink for the sky
Mowed lawn distress oxide ink for the ground
Gel printed background for the mountains (shaded lilac, wilted violet, spun sugar distress oxide inks)
White glitter card for the mountain tops

The sentiment is from the new Flying High stamp set.

I stamped and colours images from the Flying High stamp set, then die cut them with the coordinating dies. I added extra die cut layers behind the images for dimension.

For interest in the sky, I die cut the new Partly Cloudy die to get lots of clouds in one pass. I’ll keep the frame for another card. I added some speckled egg distress oxide ink to the clouds, then adhered them to my scene.

Finally, I added the Flying High images to my card. I angled the balloon to give it some movement in the scene.

The Flying High stamp set and the Partly Cloudy die are part of the May release from Hello Bluebird and will be available at 7pm MST on May 6th in the Hello Bluebird shop. They are sure to be popular so don’t miss out!
