Pretty Pink Posh June 2022 Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m joining this blog hop, celebrating the Pretty Pink Posh June release! 

If you’re following along the blog hop, you should have arrived here from Ashley Ebben. I’ll list all of today’s blog hop participants below, if you want to start at the beginning.

My card features the new Dinosaur Friends and Dinosaur Addition stamp sets. I thought I’d try making a rocker card and it was great fun to do.

All the images are stamped with black ink and coloured with copic markers. I added some images from Balloon Numbers and Birthday Friends too. I then used the coordinating dies to cut everything out.

For the card base, I cut a 4.5” circle from Kraft card, scoring and folding it in half.

On top, I added a 4” white card circle, the top half sitting above the score line. I think a heavy weight vellum would work well but I didn’t have any to use.

To create a sky, I cut another 4” circle from patterned paper, then cut that in half and adhered it to the top of the circle. I stamped a sentiment underneath, from Dinosaur Friends.

I then added the images, some with extra layers or foam tape for dimension. The lava is floating above the volcano with the help of a thin strip of acetate.

It took some time to get the card to balance, adding an image here or there to get it sitting straight.

  • Card base: Rocker card (4.5” circle, folded in half)

  • Patterned paper: Lawn Fawn Spiffy Speckles paper

  • Trees: E33 E35 E25, YG03-05 G07
  • Balloon: YR02 YR14 YR16 YR18
  • Hat & gift: B66 YR16 G14

Bonus Card

Here is an alternative, clean and simple card idea.

Very quick to make, just mask a line on a card base and blend some Salvaged Patina distress oxide above in a circular motion.

Remove the tape, stamp a sentiment underneath and add the images with a mix of foam tape and liquid adhesive.

  4. The circle card is such a cute idea. The dino is really cute, and the 8 balloon is just wonderful. A kiddo would love to get a card like that. I would actually like to get a card like that, but you would have to use two balloons to make my huge number 🙂

  6. So I’ve never made a circle card before but with your inspiration I just may have to give it a try, Gemma. I love your 2nd card as well where you incorporated the birthday balloon numbers too!!! They are both such great cards!!

  30. I LOVE your colour combo on your card, Gemma! My son just turned 2 and loves his construction trucks and vehicles, so this release is perfect.
