Today I’m sharing a card made with products from the Spellbinders Tinsel Time Collection.
I’m using the Dancin’ Snowman die set and Dazzling Diamonds glimmer plate background on my card today.
This fun die set has moving legs so the snowman can skate, or dance if you snip off the blades of the skates.
The snowman was easy to put together. I layered the legs twice, to give a bit more stability to them when they move. I did the same with the arms, so the dimension matches.
I worked on the background next. I used some pretty Skybright foil with the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer plate background. This is a beautiful background that would look great with so many card themes. I let the plate heat up a little longer than usual, around 3 minutes, as I find blue foils can sometimes be tricky. It foiled perfectly. My mini slimline panel is slightly too long for the glimmer plate but it worked well as a space to place a sentiment.
I foiled a sentiment from an older glimmer of the month kit, on blue pearlescent card with silver foil. I then adhered the foiled panel and the sentiment strip to a mini slimline card base. I also added a strip of the silver holographic card, to match the accessories on my snowman.
To make the legs move, first place a small foam square on the card base. The circle on the die cut legs should sit around the foam square, but not on top. Use some powder around the edges of the foam square to help with movement.
Next, I added the rest of the snowman with foam squares. Make sure to leave room around the circle on the legs, so it can move freely.
