Pretty Pink Posh May 2023 Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m pleased to be joining this blog hop, celebrating the Pretty Pink Posh May release! 

If you’re following along the blog hop, you should have arrived here from Wanda Guess. I’ll list all of today’s blog hop participants below, if you want to start at the beginning.

My card features the new Just a Note stamp set. I was excited to see a musical themed set in this release.

I had an idea to make a piano card, so began by creating the piano keys. I chose some Papermill Direct pearl sparkle card in black and white.

I cut 0.25” x 4.25” strips of the white card. I adhered these onto an A2 panel of black card, leaving a small gap between each strip to show the black and help separate the keys.

Next, I cut the strips of black card, 0.25” x 3”. I adhered these on top of the white strips, again leaving a little gap between each strip.

I cut this large panel in half so I would have two piano keyboards – one for this card and one for a future card. I adhered one on to an A2 horizontal card base.

For the image and sentiment from the Just a Note stamp set, I embossed them in white on black card. I used a super fine embossing powder to capture the details clearly.

I cut the black card to 3”, adding three black card layers behind for dimension, then adhered it to my card base.

To complete the look of a piano and create some definition between the black panel and the piano keys, I added two thin strips of holographic silver card.
