Spellbinders January 2024 Clubs

Today I’m sharing a cards made with the Spellbinders January 2024 Glimmer Hot Foil and Stitching clubs.

The Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil club is a monthly subscription and a great way to build your collection of glimmer plates and foils.

You will need the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil machine to use with this subscription, plus a compatible die cutting machine. I used my Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine. A list of compatible machines is available on the Spellbinders website.

The Stitching Die of the Month is a great way to add detail and texture to projects. The dies work well with or without stitching, making them a really versatile choice.

For those that want to join multiple clubs and save, Spellbinders offers Value Clubs.

This month, you get the Bee Stitched set with 13 cutting dies.

I die cut all the pieces for the bee. I chose pearl sparkle black card, pearl blue card and a plain yellow card.

For the stitching on the wings, I used metallic white thread, then chose metallic gold for the wings. Metallic thread can be a bit tricky to work with, but the end results are so pretty.

I used liquid glue and double side tape to adhere the bee together, then put it aside whilst I worked on the background.

I found some hexagonal patterned paper for the background, which I adhered to an A2 card base. I then added a contrasting strip across the centre of the card.

The sentiment is from a Hello Bluebird stamp set. I stamped this with black ink at the top centre of the card, then adhered the bee underneath to finish.

There are floral dies included in the set, but I decided not to use those this time.

This month, you get the Card Front Floral set, with 3 hot foil plates.

The large floral hot foil plate fills an A2 card size well, but I decided to work with a mini slimline card size instead to get a different look.

I chose a piece of stripy pink patterned paper and foiled the large floral plate with champagne foil. I then trimmed the panel down and adhered to a mini slimline card base (3.5 x 6”). You could add colour to the floral image, but I decided to keep it as just an outline.

There are two sentiment foil plates in the set. I foiled the ‘for you’ sentiment on a piece of the same patterned paper, then trimmed it down to a banner shape.

I added some layers behind the sentiment strip for dimension, offsetting a strip of grey patterned paper for contrast.

At this point, I decided I’d like to add more of the grey striped patterned paper to my card. I trimmed a piece down and adhered it at the bottom of the panel to finish.
